Junior Citizen Police Academy

Is your middle schooler interested in police work? At the Huntley Junior Police Academy they will learn to collect evidence at an incident scene, get to experience traffic stops, explore police equipment and much more! The academy is available to children who are going into 7th or 8th grade and either live in Huntley or attend school in District 158.

This free program covers several aspects of law enforcement and involves hands on training conducted by officers and staff from the police department.

• How to become a police officer and law enforcement career opportunities
• Department tour and overview
• Criminal investigations
• Crime scene processing
• Traffic stops
• Drone demonstration
• Emergency preparedness
• Teen dating violence
• Bullying
• Social media safety
