Investigations Division

The Investigations Division consists of a sergeant and three detectives.  Additionally, the School Resources Officer works within this Division.

The Investigations Division's detectives are responsible for the investigation of cases not initially cleared by the responding patrol officers. In order to maximize available investigative resources, each report is reviewed based on a series of factors. Cases are either assigned for follow-up or placed in an inactive file pending additional information.

The Huntley Police Department is a member of the McHenry County Major Investigations Assistance Team (MIAT) and the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force. The teams are made up of investigators from participating agencies with advanced training. Investigative assistance is provided to any member agency that has a major crime occur in their jurisdiction.
