Golf Cart Operation
The Village of Huntley is one of few communities in Illinois that has adopted an ordinance allowing the operation of golf carts on public roadways within appropriately signed neighborhoods.

No person operating a golf cart shall make a direct crossing upon or across any highway under the jurisdiction of the State, tollroad, interstate highway, or controlled access highway of this State.

Operating a golf cart on a Village street requires a licensed driver with insurance.

When operated on a roadway, a golf cart shall have its headlights and tail lamps lighted as required by the Illinois Vehicle Code [625 ILCS 5/12-201].

A person who drives or is in actual physical control of a golf cart on a roadway while under the influence is subject to Section 11-500 through 11-502 of the Illinois Vehicle Code [625 ILCS 5/11-500 thru 11-502].
