ILEAS is involved in many programs and projects throughout the state and in virtually all aspects of law enforcement homeland security. The mission of ILEAS is to strive to meet the needs of law enforcement throughout the State of Illinois in matters of mutual aid, emergency response, and the combining of resources for public safety. As a member, the Huntley Police Department has assigned officers to the Region 3 North Mobile Field Force. The original and primary purpose of the Mobile Field Force teams would be to provide security at National Pharmaceutical Stockpile distribution sites. However, with the philosophy of designing homeland security teams for "dual use" these teams have been modified to be used for other incidents such as civil disorder, disasters, etc. In fact, these teams have been designed to be the primary responders for out-of-state Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) requests for assistance.
