The Huntley Police Department has teamed up with The McHenry County Sheriff's Department Gang Task Force that consists of gang specialists from Algonquin, Cary, Crystal Lake, Harvard, Island Lake, Lake in the Hills, Marengo, McHenry, and McHenry Conservation Police. The main purpose of assigning Huntley officers to the task force is to gather intelligence and stay current on suspected gang activity and gang members in the Village of Huntley.

The Gang Task Force is often assigned to conduct gang details throughout the county, particularly during festivals and fairs.
