The Huntley Police Department utilizes the bicycle patrol as a means to get into closer contact with the community. It affords the opportunity of a face to face relationship with the public without the barrier of a perceived intimidating police car. The bicycle also allows for a faster means of responding to an incident than a foot patrol or when a vehicle is not capable of responding due to a remote location. The Huntley Police Department will deploy bicycle patrols as manpower allows and is regularly utilized for special events such as the fireworks displays, parades, and festivals.
