What is the Law Enforcement Torch Run?
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. The annual intrastate relay and its various fundraising projects have two goals: to raise money and to gain awareness for the athletes who participate in Special Olympics Illinois. Approximately 3,000 officers representing every branch of law enforcement, including Officers from the Huntley Police Department, will carry the Flame of Hope nearly 1,500 miles, running through thousands of Illinois communities to its final destination-the Opening Ceremonies of the Special Olympic Illinois Summer Games in Normal, Illinois.
The Police Department's involvement in the Torch Run
The Huntley Police Department supports and participates in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois. The Huntley Police Department has supported and participated in this statewide event annually since 1996. This event raises funds and awareness for programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The Huntley Police Department would like to thank everyone who has supported this cause in the past and ask for your continued support. To help support the Torch Run you can purchase tee shirts for $15.00, baseball hats for $10.00 or pins for $5.00. All items are available for purchase at the Police Department.
The Police Department also participates in the following fundraising events:

* Tom Peck Ford Car Show to benefit the Law Enforcement Torch Run on June 6, 2012
