Officer Kinney, along with the 33rd Infantry Battalion 1-178 and Task Force Phoenix VIII, served in Afghanistan and successfully completed their mission.  On Thursday, September 3, 2009, Officer Kinney presented Mayor Sass and Chief Perkins each with an American Flag that was proudly flown over Forward Operating Base Mehtar Lam, in the Lahgman providence of Afghanistan.
